Open Water Diver training introduces you to the fundamentals of underwater navigation, but many entry-level divers are content to simply follow their Dive Guide from point to point on the dive. Understanding how to navigate a dive site increases your comfort and confidence during your underwater adventures. Advanced navigation skills enable you and your buddy to safely navigate the dive from start to finish.
By using a compass or observing your natural surroundings, you will learn the navigation skills necessary to master your marine environment. Properly developing these skills requires time and practice, and in-water experience that can only be gained by going diving.
Taking the Navigation Specialty course provides in-depth information on the necessary equipment, skills, knowledge and experience required to safely navigate an underwater dive site using both a compass and natural navigation skills.
